Fire services are still monitoring the situation at Killarney National Park but they say it has improved since yesterday.
Fire crews from across the county have been battling the blaze since midnight on Friday night, with 50,000 litres of water dropped on the Park yesterday evening.
One fire engine and two Air Corps helicopters are at the scene in Muckross.
Concerns remain about the fire spreading due to the dry and windy conditions.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is advising people to stay away from the affected areas, but it's not expected that there will be any impact on the N71.
