Sinn Féin wants clarity provided on Irish language courses taking place in Kerry next year.
In early May, it was confirmed summer Gaeltacht courses wouldn't go ahead this year after a departmental review.
Course operators and hosts expressed health and safety concerns around hosting students from across the country.
For the second consecutive year, the Gaeltacht summer courses have been cancelled due to the pandemic.
Sinn Féin now says further clarification on next year's courses and an immediate compensation scheme is needed for the operators and hosts.
The party's Gaeltacht and Irish Language Spokesperson Aengus Ó Snodaigh says the courses are an invaluable asset to the economies in Gaeltacht regions, along with their contribution to the revival of the Irish language.
He says it's a scandal the government left it until the last minute to inform the colleges and hosts that courses would not be going ahead.
Deputy O Snodaigh adds parents will be reserving places from this September on and, without clarity beforehand, people won't have faith the courses will be run again.
