Sinn Féin TDs have been meeting with fishermen along the west coast, including in Kerry.
The party's spokesperson on fisheries Pádraig MacLochlainn is on a three-day tour of piers and harbours, meeting fishermen in Kerry, Cork, Mayo and Galway.
The tour comes ahead of the party's fisheries policy launch, which is the outcome of consultation with those working in the industry.
Deputy MacLochlainn is calling on the government to stand up for Irish fishermen in Europe and demand a fair share of the fish in Irish waters.
He's also calling for extensive reform of the Department of the Marine and the Sea Fisheries Protection Authority.
