There was a significant drop in the number of harmful assaults in Kerry during the first quarter of the year.
At the recent Joint Policing Committee meeting, Chief Superintendent of the Kerry Garda Division, Eileen Foster, gave an update on crime in the county.
There were 17 assaults causing harm in Kerry between January and March, which is down from 31 in the same period last year.

There were 70 minor assaults, which is a 5% drop on last year.
Overall, crimes against the person fell 13% during the first quarter of the year.
