Kerry is expected to be hit with severe and potentially damaging winds when Storm Ellen makes landfall tonight.
Met Eireann has upgraded the wind warning to a status orange alert for Kerry, while six other coastal counties in the west and south are also under an orange warning for wind; a yellow-level warning's in place for the rest of the island.
The warning is in place from 9 o'clock tonight until noon tomorrow.
Met Éireann says we can expect a storm surge, heavy swells and onshore winds, as well as heavy rain and there's the possibility of coastal flooding.
