A service for the widow of Billy Vincent, whose family gifted Muckross House and its lands to the State, will take place next month.
The ashes of Elisabeth Vincent will be interred next to her husband's in Killegy cemetery, Muckross on Monday, July 11th at 5pm.
Mrs Vincent died in July last year at the age of 100.
Muckross became Ireland’s first national park when in 1932, her husband Billy's father, Arthur Rose Vincent, and grandfather,William Bowers Bourn, donated the house and 11,000 acres to the people of Ireland.
From the mid-1970s to the mid-1990s, Elisabeth Vincent spent most summers in Dromkerry near Killarney with her family and grandchildren.
