It’s anticipated Ross Road in Killarney will remain closed until this evening, following a fatal crash early this morning (1pm update).
The road was closed after two teenage boys were involved in the incident, which resulted in the death of the 14-year-old driver and the passenger receiving serious injuries.
Killarney gardaí say the road is likely to remain closed for some time, so that technical examinations can be carried out.
Gardaí closed the road between Listry Bridge and Faha, following a road traffic incident last evening close to Listry Cross, which resulted in a motorcyclist in his thirties losing his life.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and, if travelling from Killarney to Dingle, do not turn off at the Golden Nugget.
It’s hoped the road there will reopen fully within the next two hours (by 3pm, Wednesday).
Road reopened - 3pm.
