The 2019 Rose of Tralee is taking part in a small ceremony to mark the festival this evening.
The 2020 Rose of Tralee International Festival was due to begin yesterday, but was cancelled a number of months ago due to COVID-19.
Sinead Flanagan, who was crowned in August of last year, will remain as the Rose of Tralee for the coming 12 months.

She says people are disappointed that the festival couldn’t go ahead, however, she’s encouraging people to look forward with hope to 2021.
Sinead is in Tralee this evening to mark the cancelled festival in a small way.
