Results of investigation into the national park fires being sought

The Green Party in Kerry is seeking results of the investigation into the recent national park fires.

Killarney representative Diarmaid Griffin is making the call following the fires last month, which damaged between 2,500 to 3,000 hectares of Killarney National Park.

This represented almost half of the park’s land area.

Diarmaid Griffin says wildfires do not occur naturally in Ireland.

He’s calling on the National Parks and Wildlife Service and An Garda Siochana to release the results of their forensic investigation.
