A decision by Kerry County Council to grant permission for a sixty-house development in Rathmore has been appealed.
Old Road Partnership are proposing to demolish a derelict house and build the 60 units, which include a variety of sizes, at Shinnagh.
The development also includes a new vehicular and pedestrian access, footpaths, services and boundary walls.
Kerry County Council granted permission, subject to conditions.
This has been appealed to An Bord Pleanala by Joe and Lucy O'Keeffe, who say the proposed development materially contravenes the Rathmore Local Area Plan and claim will lead to over 200 units being built.
A decision will be made by October 4th.
