Proposals will go before Cabinet this morning on banning fur farming in Ireland from early next year.
There are around 120,000 mink on three farms in Laois, Donegal and Kerry.
It's likely the ban will also include cats, chinchillas, dogs, foxes, mink and weasels.

The commitment around mink farming is in the programme for government.
Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae is against the proposal.
