Progress made on safety works for Finnegan's cross Kilcummin

Work to improve safety at Finnegan's cross near Kilcummin is making progress.

That's according to a spokesperson for Kerry County Council who told a recent meeting of Killarney Municipal District that the project had moved to design stage.

The junction has been the scene of several accidents in recent years.

€200,000 had been allocated to the junction under the 2021 Safety Improvement Works on Regional and Local Roads by the Department of Transport.

The meeting heard that safety works on the junction will require acquisition of land from local landowners.
