A post mortem is taking place this afternoon on the body of a young woman found dead in north Kerry this morning.
A garda investigation into the death, which has left the Lixnaw area shocked and saddened, is ongoing.
No arrests have been made.
The alarm was raised this morning when the body of the woman, in her early thirties, was discovered in the Sli na Faiche estate.
The scene at the semi-detached house was sealed off and preserved by Gardai and forensic experts carried out a detailed examination, which included sealing two upstairs windows in plastic.
A car in the driveway of the house was also removed.
The woman’s body was brought from the scene at lunchtime to University Hospital Kerry where a post mortem is being carried out.
