Planning is being sought for a solar farm in North Kerry covering almost 69 acres.
The development also includes a battery storage facility.
Alken Energy Limited has applied to Kerry County Council to build the solar PV farm and battery storage facility at Pallas, Kilfeighny South and Glanoe.
The proposed development consists of almost 143,500 (143,469) photovoltaic galvanised steel or aluminium panels on ground mounted frames over 280,000 square metres.
It also includes 18 transformer stations, one solar farm substation and a battery storage facility with 60 battery containers.
It is planned to connect the development to the Eirgrid 110 kilovolt substation at Clahane.
The developers are seeking to fell over 24 hectares of coniferous forestry, upgrade 2.5 kilometres of existing internal tracks and build 2.1 kilometres of new tracks.
They also plan to erect 4.3 kilometres of perimeter fencing, 2.8 metres high.
A Natura Impact Statement has been prepared by the developers as part of the application.
Submissions will be accepted until this Thursday and a decision is due from Kerry County Council on February 25th.
