Fine Gael councillor Patrick O’Connor Scarteen has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Kenmare Municipal District.
Cllr Michael Cahill, the outgoing Cathaoirleach, has taken the role of Leas Cathaoirleach of the Kenmare MD.
Cllr O'Connor-Scarteen has a number of priorities for his term as Cathaoirleach, including advancing wastewater treatment plants, which he says are holding back development of the area.

He also suggests the Munster Technological University could develop hubs throughout the Kenmare MD.
