University Hospital Kerry has announced revised visiting arrangements.
Visiting has been curtailed in recent months because of COVID -19, but the hospital says it’s re-instating limited visiting now on a pilot basis initially.
University Hospital Kerry says open visiting isn’t allowed, and this new limited system doesn’t guarantee visits to all patients.
There’s to be a partial reinstatement of visiting, except for intensive care, maternity, and the Emly and Cashel wards.
Visiting times are split by floor and allocated per ward on a rotational basis.
Hospital management says the timetable is limited; wards will have one allocated visit day per week, with a specific time frame.
During the admission process, patients must name two visitors or family members, along with their contact numbers.
The UHK Visitor co-ordinator will contact visitors to allocate a visiting day and time.
Only one named visitor will be allowed to attend the hospital at the allocated time, and it’s limited to 15 minutes.
