Over €120,000 in funding has been allocated to prevent dumping and graffiti in Kerry.
Executive members of Kerry County Council presented the figures to councillors at the June monthly meeting.
The total value of the anti-litter funding is €96,000 and follows the results of the latest Irish Business Against Litter Survey in which Killarney dropped nine places.
Under the anti-dumping initiative, €20,000 will be allocated to the removal of illegally dumped waste.
Another €20,000 of a mattress amnesty has been announced; this will give members of the public an opportunity to recycle their waste mattresses for free.
Just under a third of the anti-litter funding will go towards the purchasing of solar powered compact bins with €35,000 ringfenced.
€15,000 will be used to purchase stock items for waste collection and removal.
€6,000 in funding has been announced for bulky waste intake events.
Meanwhile, a further €25,000 will be used to target graffiti under the anti-graffiti awareness grant scheme.
