Over 7,800 Basic Payment scheme applications were made by Kerry farmers this year.
According to figures shared with Agriland by the Department of Food, Agriculture and the Marine, only Cork, Donegal, Galway, and Mayo had more applications.
The BPS is an income support paid to farmers per hectare of eligible land used for farming.

Meanwhile, the figures also show over 7,600 applications for the Area of Natural Constraints scheme were made by Kerry farmers this year.
The ANC provides payments to people farming land in designated disadvantaged areas.
