There were 2,153 people employed by IDA Ireland client companies in Kerry last year.
That's according to figures released by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar following a question from Fine Gael TD for Dún Laoghaire Jennifer Carroll MacNeill.
These figures show Kerry with the lowest rate of employment in such companies in Munster.
The Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar says Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) employment continued to grow in 2020 despite the impact of COVID-19 and the numbers directly employed in the multinational sector in Ireland grew to 257,394.
He says throughout 2020, IDA Ireland won 246 new investments resulting in the creation of 20,123 new jobs; over half (128) of the 246 projects won were for regional locations, according to the Tánaiste.
Last year in Kerry, 2,153 people were employed by IDA Ireland client companies - the lowest number in Munster, according to these figures which show there are 43,856 employed in Cork, 13,263 in Limerick, 7,875 in Waterford, 6,726 in Clare and 4,180 in Tipperary.
Dublin is the county with the most people employed by IDA Ireland client companies standing at 112,705 in 2020, while there were only 135 people employed in such companies in Laois last year.
Figures released in November last year show there was just one IDA Ireland site visit to Kerry at that stage last year.
