Over 200 buyers and tour operators from across the globe are in Killarney for the most important trade event for Irish tourism.
They’re attending Meitheal at the INEC to meet over 400 Irish tourism businesses.
Meitheal is the longest established and most important trade event for the Irish tourism industry, and will take place at the INEC Killarney tomorrow and Friday.
It took place virtually the past two years, and the return of this in-person event will be hugely important for the recovery of tourism.
Over 200 buyers and tour operators from across the globe will meet 400 Irish tourism businesses, including many from Kerry.
These will include representatives of Irish visitor attractions, tours, and hotels, who will pitch their business to become part of the itineraries of the international buyers.
In advance of the event, the visiting buyers are on trips which are showcasing some of what Ireland has to offer, including Kerry.
The tours are organised by Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland, and are designed to showcase Ireland’s destination regions – the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, and Dublin.
CEO of Fáilte Ireland, Paul Kelly says the tours will ensure Ireland and Kerry is front of mind as the Meitheal visitors prepare itineraries for 2023 and beyond.
