Just over 15% of the working age population in Kerry were listed as unemployed in 2022.
That’s according to the CSO from its administrative data sources report.
The figures show of everyone aged 15 and over in the county, more than 12,800 in this age group in Kerry were unemployed in 2022.
Just below 500 people in the age category were listed as not in the labour force.
4,288 people were unable to work due to permanent sickness or disability.
Over 70,200 people in the category were listed as persons at work.
Elsewhere, in Kerry over 22,000 were registered as retired in the year, while there were 15,377 students in the county.
Of people aged 15 years or over, the report says 6,895 were looking after the home/family.
