An outreach clinic for pregnant women has opened in Tralee, with more due to open across the county.
These mean expectant mothers don't have to travel to University Hospital Kerry for all of appointments, and can instead be dealt with locally.
A clinic is operating from CentrePoint in Tralee, one will open in Listowel before the end of the year, while there are also plans for services in Killarney, Dingle and Killorglin.
University Hospital Kerry has also launched a new campaign, encouraging more women to have their baby in UHK rather than travelling outside of the county.
Advanced Midwife Practitioner at UHK, Joann Malik says she’s noticed there’s a baby boom on the way.
