On-call firefighters begin campaign of industrial action

On-call firefighters have begun a campaign of industrial action.

SIPTU says local authorities have failed to address the worsening recruitment and retention crisis in the brigade.

Firefighters won't be attending training drills, and if a resolution isn't found, half of the country's fire crews will stop working next Tuesday before an all out strike the following week.
