The number of people in Kerry claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment has fallen below 15,000 this week.
This is according to the latest data from the Department of Social Protection.
This week (up to May 11th), 14,894 people in Kerry are getting the Pandemic Unemployment Payment as they have lost their job due to the pandemic.
That’s a decrease of 338 people compared to the previous week.
451 people in the county informed the department they were closing their PUP payment and returning to work; that’s an increase of 21 on last week’s figure.
33 more person in Kerry claimed the Enhanced Illness Benefit due to having COVID-19 or needing to self-isolate.
To date, 3,361 people in the county have claimed this payment.
