In a joint statement, they say garda patrols are being increased on the streets and extra personnel will be assigned to monitor behaviour.

Both parties are appealing for people not to gather in the Beech Road car park and other areas in the town, particularly at night.
Last weekend, three people were arrested in relation to public order incidents in the Beech Road area.

Killarney Garda Superintendent, Flor Murphy, says parents and guardians have an important role to play, and need to take necessary steps to ensure they're not the next people contacted late at night to say their child is in garda custody.

He says people must take individual responsibility and act and behave in a proper manner.
President of Killarney Chamber and Kerry county councillor Niall Kelleher added they will do everything to protect the town's Purple Flag status, which rewards excellence in managing the safety and vibrancy of the night-time economy.
