Nearly €60,000 of drugs were seized and a man arrested in South Kerry, following a high-speed chase.
A man was arrested in Kilgarvan, after a chase that ended with the suspect crashing into another vehicle.
The incident happened at around 12 noon yesterday when gardaí intercepted a vehicle in the Kilgarvan area, which took off at high speed.
In the chase that followed, the suspects’ car collided with another vehicle at Letter, a townland between Kilgarvan and Kenmare.
Gardai seized between €50,000 and €60,000 in cannabis from the vehicle and arrested the suspect.
He was taken to Bantry Garda station, where he is being detained under Drugs Trafficking Act.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital, though the injuries sustained are not thought to be serious.
