The feasibility of re-establishing a Gaeltacht summer college in South Kerry is to be assessed as part of grant funding worth over €30,000 (€30,646).
Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs and Sport, Jack Chambers announced the funding during a recent visit to Kerry and north Cork.
Minister Jack Chambers met with members of Comhchoiste Ghaeltacht Uíbh Ráthaigh, Comharchumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhne and CLG na Gaeltachta in Ballyferriter, Coiste Pháirc Spraoi Bhaile na Sceilge and Áiseanna na hÓige in Daingean Uí Chúis.
He also visited Coláiste Íosagáin in Baile Bhuirne.
During his visit to Áiseanna na hÓige, Minister Chambers announced a grant of €21,000 for the Committee to purchase a bus for the pre-school service they run.
He also approved funding of €5,760 to enable the Comhchoiste explore the possibility of establishing an Irish College in the area.
In Coiste Pháirc Spraoi Bhaile na Sceilge, for which he approved a fund of €32,540 in 2020 for the development of the park with St Michael's GAA, he approved an additional €3,886.
