Ireland South MEP, Billy Kelleher is calling on the Government to make detailed contingency plans for the Kerry haulage sector.
Speaking following the publication of the Government’s Getting Ireland Brexit Ready plan, the Fianna Fáil MEP says there’s a significant lack of detail around a No Deal Brexit.
He says a no deal would result in huge delays at Dover, and Irish hauliers using the land bridge would face paperwork putting them under serious time and financial pressure.
MEP Kelleher believes the Government must secure additional roll on, roll off ferry capacity, if it becomes unworkable for hauliers to travel across the land bridge.
