Man dies in roadworks incident in North Kerry

A man has died following a workplace incident in North Kerry.

Gardaí say they are investigating the workplace death of a man that occurred at a roadwork's site on the R551 between Tarbert and Ballylongford.

A man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead following an incident involving a vehicle yesterday afternoon.

The Health and Safety Authority have been notified.

He has been named as Andrew Fleming from Dunmore in Galway.

A forensic examination of the scene is due to be carried out.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
