A major operation to recover the body of an angler off Kerry Head is continuing.
The alarm was raised with Valentia Coast Guard around 8.30 last night when the man fell into the water.
Another man who entered the water in a bid to save him got into difficulty himself but managed to make it ashore.
A recovery operation is continuing today involving the Shannon Coast Guard Helicopter, the naval vessel the LE Niamh, coast guard members from Fenit, Banna, Ballyheigue, Glenderry, Ballybunion and several local fishing boats.
