SouthDoc services in Listowel are to be restored next month.
The HSE has confirmed the decision to reopen the centre in the North Kerry town to a number of local public representatives, many of whom have called for its restoration over the past year.
During the early stages of the pandemic, SouthDoc reduced the number of clinics it was operating in an effort to lessen the number of staff needed and to consolidate services.
Listowel was one of the locations closed, with services being provided from the Tralee centre.
Since then, a number of Kerry public representatives have called for it to be restored, including all councillors in the Listowel Municipal District and Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly.
The HSE now says North Kerry calls will be dealt with in the Listowel centre from July 5th by an onsite doctor for each out of hours session seven days a week.
The weekend service in Listowel will be 9am-5pm on Saturdays and 9am to 1pm on Sundays.
