A Kerry County Councillor says major road works and replacement of watermains in Listowel should be done at the same time.
Kerry County Council says €100,000 is needed to replace two sections of water pipes in the town; however, Irish Water has not placed them on their priority list.
A break in the mains on Bridge Road last night affected over 200 homes and businesses; that is the sixth time the pipe has burst this year.
The section of pipe on Upper Church Street has broken three times this year; those incidents meant most of the town was left without water.
