Residents of an area in Killarney are hosting a meeting this evening to highlight concerns about road safety.
Ballydribeen Residents Association is calling on Kerry County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland to provide footpaths at the entrance to the housing estates.
They’re located near the busy Cleeney Roundabout on the Tralee Road in Killarney, where there have been a number of accidents including a recent fatality.
There are six residential estates in Ballydribeen, Killarney, with another one being developed.
The area is near the Cleeney Roundabout on the Tralee Road and has a population of around 1,300.
Locals say they need safe access routes to get to shops and sporting facilities and have been campaigning since 2012.
There have been a number of accidents in the area, including a fatality last month.
The Ballydribeen Residents Association is holding a meeting outdoors in Ballydribeen this evening.
A maximum of 15 people can attend to comply with COVID-19 restrictions, but it’s being streamed live on Ballydribeen Residents' Association's Facebook page from 7pm.
Local resident Martina O'Riordan says they want measures put in place to ensure the safety of all people living in the area.
