The government has committed to looking at changing legislation that prevents performing artists holding drive-in gigs.
The law as it stands resulted in the cancellation of Gavin James and Bernard Casey drive-in concerts at the INEC, due for August 8th and 9th in Killarney
The matter was raised during questions on promised legislation by Independent Deputy Micheal Healy Rae this afternoon.
The Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said, while not being a public health expert, he couldn’t see why musicians and comedians - if they were socially distanced on stage - should not be allowed hold concerts.
