An Independent councillor says plans brought before cabinet on housing Ukrainian refugees are impractical given the housing crisis.
Martin Grady was responding to the proposal by Integration Minister Roderic O’Gorman, which would see those fleeing war housed for 3 months; after which they would have to source their own accommodation.
Last Month, Cllr Grady said Ukrainian refugees should pay a service charge towards their accommodation.
The Killarney councillor believes the proposal is impractical, however, he says the current policy of no time restriction on free accommodation needs to change.
