Community organisations in Kerry will benefit from over €130,000 in funding to support sport and physical activity measures.
Kerry TD and Deputy Government Chief Whip Brendan Griffin has welcomed the funding, which will come from the Dormant Accounts Fund.
Deputy Griffin explained that the investment will be focused towards people with disabilities, people who are educationally disadvantaged and from disadvantaged areas.
As part of this funding, €61,000 will go to Community Sports and Physical Activity Hubs, which provide information, support, and advice to people in disadvantaged areas.
Over €31,000 has been allocated to Urban Outdoor Adventure Initiatives.
€12,000 will go to the Kerry Local Sports Partnership under the Sports Inclusion Disability Programme Capital Supports.
The Volunteer Training and Support Programme will receive €15,000, while the Youth Leadership Project will receive €7,000.
Minister for Education Norma Foley has also welcomed the funding.
