A Kerry TD says he’s willing to try wearing a visor in the Dáil, after stating face masks cause him to have coughing fits.
It’s recommended that face masks are worn in the Dáil and Seanad.
Independent Danny Healy Rae says he can’t wear a mask as he has an allergy and is prone to start coughing when wearing them.
He says there are social distancing measures in the Dáil and therefore doesn’t think he is a risk by not wearing a mask.
Meanwhile, Deputy Danny Healy Rae believes Ireland’s borders should be closed to combat the spread of COVID-19.
He says he won’t be travelling overseas anytime soon:
