A Kerry TD has welcomed the extension of free GP care for all children under the age of eight.
Families are now able to register children aged six and seven for a GP visit card, allowing them to visit the doctor at no cost.
It also includes home visits and out-of-hours urgent GP care.

Minister for Education, Norma Foley says this is an important milestone in healthcare, allowing children access to their doctor regardless of ability to pay.
