Kerry TD Danny Healy-Rae has called for pubs and restaurants to be reopened up in line with the rest of the hospitality industry.
Hotels, B&Bs and guest houses reopened yesterday, and outdoor dining is due to resume next Monday the 7th of June.
However, bars and restaurants will not reopen until July 5th under Government guidelines.
Speaking in the Dáil, Deputy Healy-Rae asked what the Government has against pubs in rural Ireland and ordinary punters who want to go for a pint.
He said people in Kerry have been isolated for long enough and their mental health has been affected.
The Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, said the Oireachtas has no agenda other than protecting lives and public health.
