A Kerry TD says Tralee Courthouse won’t be renovated.

Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly says he understands that the buildings unit in the Courts Service decided this week not to refurbish the Tralee facility.

He says the Courts Service has written to Kerry County Council, seeking information on two possible relocation sites: Ballymullen and the Island of Geese/Denny Site.

Deputy Daly says, as it’s important to protect jobs and businesses in the town centre, the Island of Geese is the next best location.

He says the lack of investment in Tralee Courthouse over the decades has cost the town money.
