A Kerry TD says it's an absolute disgrace that the chair of an Oireachtas committee refused to condemn the killers of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe.
Tipperary Sinn Féin TD Martin Browne, who's the chair of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Public Petitions, recently refused to condemn the IRA killers of Detective Garda McCabe in an interview with Tipp FM.

Kerry Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin called on Deputy Browne at the committee to clarify his position on the 1996 killing of Jerry McCabe who was from Ballylongford.

The Sinn Féin TD told the committee that the killing of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe was unjustified and reprehensible, and he condemns the act unreservedly, but would not condemn the killers when pressed by Deputy Griffin.

Deputy Griffin accused him of empty, meaningless words, and said it's a disgrace that he refused to condemn the killers.
