A Kerry TD is welcoming a plan to overhaul the apprenticeships system.
Government has launched a new five-year plan, which Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin says will benefit both learners and businesses.
Deputy Government Chief Whip and Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin says the government’s plan will increase the number of new apprentices to 10,000 every year from 2025.
As well as increasing numbers, it’ll also introduce a grant for employers who take on apprentices.
Deputy Brendan Griffin says this new plan will reform the system, making it easier to become an apprentice and provide a financial incentive to take on an apprentice.
He says apprenticeships are good for both learners and businesses.
The plan will expand the range of available apprenticeships, with the creation of roles in the public service, health, farming and green skills.
