Kerry TD Pa Daly has called on the Minister for Sport to consider allowing Parkrun events to resume.
Parkrun is a 5-kilometre run, walk or jog that takes place every Saturday morning in over 2000 locations in 22 countries across five continents.
There are several Parkruns in Kerry including in Killarney, Tralee, Listowel and Inch beach.
Deputy Daly called on Minister Catherine Martin to meet with Parkrun organisers and to consider creating a trial event so they can resume as soon as possible.
The Sinn Féin TD said studies about outdoor running events show there's minimal risk to participants and events are free, providing an important and accessible resource.
