Kerry TD Pa Daly has criticised the government and the HSE for their failure to communicate clearly with residents of St Mary of the Angels and St John Of God.
There are fears for the future of St Mary of the Angels, after it emerged that the current service provider, St John of God Community Services, may have to sell off its assets and properties to meet its debts.
Last year St John of God issued notice to terminate its contract with the HSE and to withdraw as the Service Provider for the Beaufort disability service.
The Sinn Féin TD said he has been contacted by numerous families who are deeply concerned for the centre’s future.
Deputy Daly called on government and the HSE to reassure residents and their families that St Mary of the Angels will not be traded as an asset in the transition process.
