A number of Kerry students have received national awards for their entrepreneurship in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme.
Nine primary school pupils, ranging from 3rd to 6th class, in Drumnacurra National School, Causeway received the Top Teams award for their classroom business – The Little Shop of Stitches.
The Little Shop of Stitches produced a range of hand-made cards and gifts using only recycled materials.
The pupils made a profit of almost 400 euro and donated 25% to the Causeway Community Playground project.
A Kilcummin student, twelve year old Sadbh O'Halloran, was awarded the Bright Spark Award for her pebble art business idea which creates pieces of art using pebbles and natural matierals.
Fourteen other Kerry schools participated in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme.
