A Kerry solicitor is seeking clarity on proposed changes to garda powers.
A number of new measures are being proposed, including a law compelling someone to provide passwords for electronic devices if their home is subject to a search warrant.
Tralee solicitor Pat Mann says there needs to be consideration around this proposed change, as devices could contain personal information which doesn’t relate to garda investigations.
He also has concerns about a proposal to log information on the PULSE system even if gardaí find nothing of consequence following a routine stop and search.
