A Kerry senator says he will return any and all non-incurred expenses.
48 members of the upper house received expenses when the Seanad was closed in April and May.
240 thousand euro was paid out for the two months - which works out at around 4,000 euro each.
The expenses have to be accounted for at the end of the year.
The Irish Independent reports that Kerry Fianna Fáil Senator, Ned O'Sullivan, who is part of the Houses of the Oireachtas standards body, said he will refund all non-incurred expenses.
