People in Kerry are being urged to make sure they're not unwittingly spreading COVID-19 this Bank Holiday weekend.
Acting Director of Public Health Dr Anne Sheahan is appealing to everyone in Kerry and Cork to act immediately if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, by staying away from others and arranging a test as quickly as possible.
Dr Sheahan said she is particularly concerned by the number of cases spreading in workplaces, and that people can't take any chances with the Delta variant.
Dr Sheahan is also urging parents not to allow their child mix with other children if they have symptoms, which for the Delta variant are typically a new cough, headache, and sore throats.
The Director of Public Health adds the best protection for the entire community is to get vaccinated as soon as possible, with walk-in clinics available at the Tralee and Killarney vaccination centres over the weekend.
