Pensioners in Kerry are being encouraged to review their whole of life insurance policies.
That’s according to the CEO of the Irish Senior Citizens’ Parliament, Mairead Hayes, who was responding to concerns raised about increasing premiums and annual reviews.
This relates to whole of life insurance policies sold in the 1980s and 90s with annual reviews pushing premiums up; the number of complaints about these has increased.
Ms Hayes says if pensioners aren’t happy, they should contact the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman, which now has increased power in this area.
