Hotels in Kerry have seen a big boost in bookings for the key summer months since their reopening date of June 2nd was announced.
The Irish Hotels Federation says 31 per cent of rooms across the country have been reserved for July and 27 per cent for August.
Spokesperson for the Kerry branch Padraig McGillicuddy said bookings are looking particularly positive in the south west region.
Mr McGillicuddy said Kerry was among the top three destinations in Ireland last year and he’s hopeful for a similar situation this summer.
He said there’s still time for people to book their Summer break, a sentiment echoed by IHF President Elaina Fitzgerald Kane.
